Frequently Asked Questions

Why use a broker for car or personal finance?

The lowest advertised interest rate doesn't always mean the cheapest loan. We compare the interest rate, fees, repayments and overall loan structure, while also having access to specialist lenders and lending policies that may better suit your circumstances.

Does my car have to be purchased through a dealership?

No. We can arrange finance for vehicles purchased through a dealership or through a private sale. The process and lender requirements can differ depending on how you're purchasing the vehicle.

Can I finance a used car?

Yes. Finance is available for both new and used vehicles. The vehicle's age, value and condition can influence which lenders and loan terms are available.

How quickly can car or personal finance be approved?

Generally within 24 hours. Approval timeframes vary depending on the lender, your circumstances and the documents required, but are generally much quicker than mortgage applications.

Does my credit score affect my interest rate?

Yes. Your credit score can influence both the lenders available to you and the interest rate you're offered. Lenders may also consider factors such as previous defaults, late repayments and the number of recent credit enquiries on your credit file.

Can I get a better deal if I own property?

In most cases, yes. Some lenders offer more favourable pricing and loan options to property owners, even when the property itself isn't being used as security for the loan. We can compare property-owner and standard lending options to determine what's available to you.

Can I have a balloon payment at the end of my car loan?

Yes. Depending on the lender and vehicle, a balloon payment of up to 30% may be available on loan terms of five years or less. This can reduce your regular repayments, but leaves a larger amount to repay or refinance at the end of the loan term.

Can I refinance an existing car loan or balloon payment?

Yes. If you already have vehicle finance, we can review your existing loan and compare refinancing options. This can also be useful when a balloon payment is approaching and you don't want to pay the entire amount from your own funds, or when you are purchasing a property and the reduced repayments of a refinanced car loan will increase your borrowing capacity for the purchase.

Can I have more than one car or personal loan?

Yes. You can have multiple car or personal loans, provided you meet the lender's borrowing and affordability requirements. Your existing debts and repayments will be considered when assessing the new application.

What can I use a personal loan for?

Personal loans can be used for a range of purposes, including major purchases, renovations, travel, weddings, debt consolidation and other personal expenses. Available options will depend on the loan purpose and your financial circumstances.
